The Banger Sisters

Ryen and Maddie formed their own band last week. They are currently in the process of finding just the right sound- a real 4 asprin hit. Though they are a relatively new band, they have quite a family room following and have already scored a gig at Family Home Evening. Keep your eyes (and ears) on this up-and-coming duo!

The Trial Is Over

Ryen loves art so much that I decided to introduce her to markers... on a trial-only basis. The last time she had a marker in her hand we ended up with some pretty serious artwork on our walls and furniture. I thought maybe she was ready to give it a try again. She isn't. Let's just leave it at that. :)

Jaguar Jammies

I love the FALL!!! The weather has been so incredible and we have loved taking advantage of it! We've been going for lots of walks and taking the kids on bike rides. We love to go to a large park we have here. It is a giant forest with a river running through it and little paved trails that go for miles. We always stop at the bridge to let the kids get out and play for a little while. We feel blessed to live in such a beautiful place!

Ready To Rhumba

On Thursday evening, Ry had her best dance lesson yet. Her teacher told us that she was a little angel... which, of course, we already knew. :) She is getting better and better at listening and focusing. We are so proud of her! Sonny and I love to watch Ryen leap and twirl around the house in her tap shoes or ballet slippers. Tonight, when we were explaining to her what General Conference is, we asked her what she thought the prophet wanted to tell her. She announced, "That I am going to be a star." We wouldn't be surprised.

Ryen's Web Fort

During our learning time today, we talked about bugs and spiders. We made a spider web in the family room and when we were done playing with that, we turned it into a fort. Ryen spent over an hour in her "spider house" coloring and practicing her writing skills. It's been hard to lure her out of that thing- even to eat or go to the bathroom. I pity the fly that wanders into the family room today.

We love Saturdays! It's really the only full day we get to spend together as a family- usually with no interuptions. We took the girls out to lunch and then spent the afternoon at "the duck park". The girls love to feed the ducks, walk around the lake, and explore the train tracks that run right by the park. We cherish our time together as a family.
